Changes in version 1.2

New effects

“Edge blending” - Tip: The Auto input overlapping mode allows you to place input areas edge-to-edge without overlapping. Make sure that blending areas (marked by red rectangles) do not go beyond the working zone; otherwise you will get black bars in the output.
“Density of grid” – This is the editor of vertical or horizontal frequency of nodes in the grid. Tip – Use the CTRL key to enable the drawing mode and to change the value in the current block with the mouse wheel. Density of grid
Curvature of edges by Bezier curves -  look at the picture, everything is just simple. vmorph

Improved effects

  • Masks – Now it is possible to move the entire mask as a whole, as well as a facet separately. Also you can insert a new vertex by double-clicking a facet. These improvements are related only to polygon masks. Manipulations with ellipse masks remain unchanged.

New features

  • Lock areas from accidental changes. hotkey "L".
  • Switch between areas quickly using hotkeys "1-9", "0".
  • Solo Edit mode lets you disable snapping of nodes and area facets.
  • Resize the current area relative to the center by clicking PageUp / PageDown.
  • New option to show vertical and horizontal guide lines which divide the working zone to 2 and/or 3 parts.
  • Added the snap-in effect to the corners of the working zone and to the guide lines.
  • New About dialog in which you can activate the License key, see the version and other information. A separate application called "Mapio Activation" has been removed.

Other changes

  • Switch between areas (select the current area) by double-clicking, earlier it was possible on a single mouse click.
  • Now zoom can be less than 100%. Also a new option called "Allow to drag outside" is added to Settings. It allows you to move area nodes outside the working zone.
  • Now, the geometry of the input area is described by 4 points, so more configurations are possible, not only rectangular ones. To allow the input of nonrectangular areas, put a tick into the checkbox in the settings for the “Allow nonrectangular input” item.
  • “My documents” is set as the initial folder for the "load \ save to" functions.
  • New options in Mapio FX - enable \ disable the cursor and "Only output" - to disable automatic switching of display modes (input \ output).

Many bugs have been fixed. Some elements of the interface have been enhanced.

About support of VDMX5 (beta8) – I have fixed bugs in the demo mode on VDMX5beta, but the overall testing is still in progress. I would be glad if you try Mapio on the latest version of VDMX5 and report bugs. So, support of VDMX b8 is now in beta status. I would like to thank the VDMX5 team for support and for implementation of the functionality for Mapio.

IRMapio - 1.1

Monday, 28 February 2011 03:07

I am excited to announce our IR Mapio 1.1 update that supports masks and multiple instances. Now it’s possible to draw and edit masks right in the Mapio editor with the ongoing control over the output.

Below is the list of new features and improvements:

  1. The update lets you draw and edit masks as polygons and ellipses right in Mapio. You can use the ESC key to cancel the last point. Besides, you can finalize a polygon with a double-click, and delete a polygon point with a double-click during editing.
  2. Support for more than one FFGL plug-in instance in the host application.
  3. In the Edit mode, the mouse cursor from Mapio is displayed right in the output video stream. This lets you stay focused on the projector picture, rather than look at the computer screen.
  4. Separate Effects panel for quick editing and switching between effects.
  5. Workspace zoom-in/out that lets you insert area knots with pinpoint precision.
  6. New buttons for rotating areas. Areas in the editor can help you see where the top and bottom of the stream will be. The bottom edge of the video stream corresponds to a thick line.
  7. FFGL plug-in has a new parameter to enable (disable) the grid in the Edit mode.
  8. New to the update is a special grip to move an area as a whole.
  9. Now you can disable the Snap mode by pressing the ALT key (formerly CTRL). However the mode for dragging several knots simultaneously is disabled by pressing the CTRL key as before.

So, as I have informed you lately, the price has grown up to 77 Euro.

Version 1.2 is scheduled for release in May-June 2011. That release will deliver a new feature called Blending, plus a range of other enhancements. After the release of version 1.2, the cost of the product is expected to grow. Keep this in mind and do not delay the purchase.

IR Mapio 1.0 released

Friday, 07 January 2011 13:34

IRMapio is a set of editor and plug-in of FreeFrameGL standard to arrange 2D mapping projections of arbitrary complexity. The editor allows assigning up to 64 transformation areas. Each transformation modifies arbitrary section of input video stream into arbitrary section in output stream. It is possible to independently assign both regular linear keystone correction and non-linear correction for each area. It allows to create a multi-screen projection using one or more projectors.

Key features:

  • Online editing of transformation areas (the changes are immediately applied to the video stream in the edit mode)
  • Allows to display projection on the curved surfaces – sphere, cylinder – with adjustable curvature
  • High performance
  • Save and load the configurations created
  • Available for Windows and MacOS X platforms.

IRKeystone2, IRKeystone3 a FFGL plug-ins for dualhead/triplehead keystone correction!

If you use a multi-screen setup with Resolume Avenue and the projector placement is not optimal, you probably will want to correct the projected image. But correction in the beamers is limited and looks not good, so ... you need this!
